On Tuesday I went out in -4 degrees of frost, hoping for bright sunshine, but it turned out to be generally overcast, with only a few glimpses of the sun. As I drove through Dunsden I was considering abandoning the ride as there was a lot of ice around on the country lanes. However, I decided to change my route somewhat, to avoid the narrow country lanes I had planned to do at the start of the ride.
My route started at Sonning Common, took in Stoke Row, Ipden, Goring & Checkenden. 23 miles, according to my cycle computer. However the route below says 21. I prefer 23.
There was plenty of interest along the way with the frost and also some interesting monochrome subjects.

Beechwoods near Stoke Row, with the frost melting on the leaves. A magical place when the light is good. |

Love the thought of all those pigs John one of my favourite subjects especially if they are rare breeds, a great set - Happy New Year to Ann and yourself, not forgetting family of course.
ReplyDeleteJohn; Another good set. I too liked Pigsville but best of all the frost on the logs and the monochrome farm. Happy memories revived for me of lunch, right on the riverside at the Leathern Bottel soon after it re-opened, My son and his partner were visiting from Switzerland, during that late spell of summer weather in September.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you and yours in the New Year and thanks for all you do for the club.
Thanks for your comments Peter.
DeleteYes, this restaurant does occupy a wonderful location on the Thames. Must go and eat there soon.
