Henley to Checkenden & Beyond............

Despite a forecast of snow & ice, the weather was bright with a cold breeze. We set off from Mill Lane in Henley and returned via Checkendon, Nuffield & Russels Water. Here is the Route, which may take a few seconds to load up.

Cycling In the Hambleden Valley

A cold, frosty morning and the first ride of the year. I had high hopes of a sunny morning, however it soon became overcast and by the end of the ride there were some spits & spots of rain.

As I have a part-time cold I decided to go for a relatively easy route, with only 2 "easy" hills.

20 miles covered, the route is HERE

Looking down the valley, with the barn on the left.

The bridge at Hamblden Village. Despite the rain this winter there is very little water in the stream.

A "thin" winter sun in this and the previous picture.

Smoke from the farm, giving the impression of a mist.
