Today we started at Henley on Thames, parking near to the famous Leander Rowing Club. We cycled to Fawley, Turville Heath, Southend, Northend, Christmas Common, Russels Water, Stonor and back to Henley. 20 miles.
The weather was warm enough to forsake jackets and bright throughout the ride.
Almost immediately into our ride I punctured, due to a massive pothole and my tyre deflated in 2 seconds flat. Our enforced pit stop was not up to F1 standards. Probably between 5-10 minutes.
We stopped for tea at one of our favourite venues - the Quince Tree in Stonor ( http://www.thequincetree.com/ ). Here I was forced into eating a giant blackberry pastry with my cuppa.
The road from Stonor to Lower Assenden is in a poor state after the flooding, with potholes everwhere and water still running down the side of the road.
A few pictures.........................

The Guildhall at Henley

Looking back from the Guildhall towards the Church & river

The steep single track road up to Fawley.
Ian is about get off and join me walk the last section.

Good job we were walking as I spotted this backlit bluebell

The church at Fawley

The owner of this property must be a leg man.
Amusing sight, with the red garters.

More bluebells - this time at Southend, with an old cottage in the background.
I've seen deer running through these woods and across the road recently.

Landscape near Russels Water

Two lone trees near Stonor. I bagged these a few months ago, in winter and gave them the monochrome treatment.

I know I need a big lens, but this is the best I can do with a compact camera.
We must have counted approx 30 Red Kites, either on the ground or circling, before landing. I couldn't get them all in shot.
There must have been some carrion in this field

More Red Kites - Honest!

Back to Henley and workers across the river putting up the marquees for the regatta.

My sense of humour, but I found this boat name trés amusant.
